Common problems and solutions in epoxy flooring construction

The floor has cracks and hollows

1. If the hollow layer of the floor is thick (about 4-5cm), the method of cutting and pouring solvent-free epoxy resin can be used to solve it

2. If the hollow layer of the floor is thin, it must be removed. Generally, cracks must be cut open and repaired with solvent-free epoxy mortar to make it smooth

When the strength is not good, measures should be taken to enhance the base surface

1. Remove the powdery layer on the surface using mechanical methods, clean it thoroughly, and apply oil multiple times

2. Use mechanical methods to remove the thin layer of cement that has peeled off the surface, clean it thoroughly, and apply oil multiple times as a base coat

3. If the ground is too poor, a new concrete leveling layer can be poured

When the flatness is poor, measures should be taken to improve the flatness of the base surface

1. Use a large polishing machine to repeatedly polish (cross over)

2. Check with a level ruler, mark severe areas, polish high areas again, and fill the bottom with epoxy mortar

3. Level with epoxy mortar

There is old paint and oil stains

1. Surface oil stains, baked with fire if conditions permit

2. Surface oil stains can also be cleaned with mixed solvents or with oil cleaning agents

3. If oil stains have penetrated the floor, they should be sealed with cement substrate first, dried before applying epoxy coating

4. There is ordinary old paint

5. You can use our company's mixed solvent to soak, clean, and then polish the epoxy coating for construction

6. Use a planer to remove old paint

7. If the old paint base has good adhesion, solvent-free intermediate coating can be used to seal it first and then apply downwards

The construction of epoxy self leveling on the first floor must have a reliable waterproof layer to prevent foaming. If the mixed soil base does not have a front moisture-proof layer, a moisture-proof layer must be applied first before constructing the epoxy floor.

Common methods:

1. 2mm steel waterproof

2. 2mm epoxy resin mortar with moisture-proof agent

Expansion joint treatment

1. For small grid joints, epoxy mortar can be used to fill and level them

2. For the expansion joints of the main structure, the original asphalt should be removed first. After the construction of the epoxy floor is completed, it should be re cut neatly and filled with elastic PU adhesive that is similar in color to the floor.

When constructing epoxy flooring in the purification room, it is required that the decorative party reserve the curved corners of the floor for installation first, and then install them after the epoxy flooring construction is completed

Epoxy flooring construction should only be carried out after the completion of other decoration projects, and cross construction is strictly prohibited, otherwise it will seriously affect the quality of epoxy flooring construction.
