Epoxy flooring has strict requirements during construction and daily maintenance, with every working procedure under precise control. The key precautions are listed as follows:
Precautions During Construction
Before coating application, the ground must be thoroughly cleaned; otherwise, the overall finishing effect will be affected.
When constructing epoxy floor paint at a temperature above 15℃, no activation time is required. Construction can start immediately after mixing Component A and Component B evenly. When the temperature is below 10℃, an activation period of 10 to 30 minutes is needed until the material temperature rises above 15℃ before construction.
Keep doors and windows sealed during construction. Ensure the working area is free of dust, impurities and other contaminants. Avoid dust generation during operation to minimize the impact of external dirt on the topcoat finish.
Strict fire prevention measures must be observed on the construction site.
Pedestrian access is permitted 24 hours after construction completion. Do not clean the floor with a damp cloth within 3 days. The optimal curing period for the coating film is 7 days, and normal use is allowed after full curing.
Precautions for Floor Maintenance
For daily cleaning, use a soft broom or cloth. For large-area workshop floor cleaning, do not use strong chemical solvents such as xylene or banana oil. Generally use detergent, soapy water or clean water with a floor washer. If no cleaning machine is available, spread sawdust on the floor before sweeping clean.
For heavy stains, apply a neutral detergent, wipe and rinse with water, then allow the surface to dry completely.
If acids, alkalis or other chemicals spill on the floor, rinse immediately with water. For sauce, oil and common stains, simply wipe clean with a cloth.
Do not use the floor during the curing period after construction. Ensure good ventilation and implement strict fire prevention measures.
Production staff are not allowed to walk on the floor with nailed leather shoes.
All working tools shall be placed on dedicated fixed racks. Avoid hitting the floor with sharp metal parts to prevent damage to the floor coating.
When installing heavy equipment with lifting machinery in the workshop, pad the supporting points with thick rubber or soft materials. It is forbidden to drag equipment directly on the floor with steel pipes or metal parts.
When carrying out high-temperature operations such as electric welding in the workshop, lay fireproof materials such as asbestos cloth in areas where welding sparks may splash, so as to prevent burning and damaging the floor coating.
