Functional Introduction of Epoxy Fireproof Flooring

There are a wide variety of flooring types on the market with different application purposes, including epoxy wear-resistant flooring, as well as epoxy flooring with anti-slip, waterproof and dustproof functions. So how much do you actually know about fireproof flooring?

Traditional fireproof flooring is made by applying a layer of fire-retardant material on the surface during construction. This material delivers flame retardant and fireproof performance, commonly known as emery aggregate. Although emery aggregate boasts good fireproof performance, it tends to fade easily and shows insignificant effects in waterproofing and other aspects. Against this background, a new type of epoxy fireproof flooring has been developed.

The new epoxy fireproof flooring is constructed with polyurethane epoxy coatings. It features non-flammability, superior wear resistance, seamless surface, non-toxicity, waterproofing and dustproofing. After construction, it forms a uniform and dense film structure, and turns into a smooth integral epoxy floor once fully cured. It is widely suitable for factories and areas with strict fire control requirements.

Epoxy fireproof flooring possesses excellent comprehensive performance and requires relatively strict production and construction standards. Meanwhile, it also needs standardized daily use and maintenance. The key precautions are as follows:

1. Keep pedestrian access restricted for at least 24 hours and vehicle access closed for at least 48 hours after floor construction is completed.

2. As an oil-based flooring material, fireproof epoxy flooring is prone to scratches; avoid contact with sharp objects as much as possible.

3. Avoid sudden braking and sharp turning on the floor surface.

4. Promptly clean dust and debris on the floor to prevent abrasion damage.

5. Wrap the hard corners of equipment with cloth before moving onto the floor to avoid surface scratches.

6. Minor local damage can be repaired on site; large-area damage requires overall floor renovation.
