Wuhan Women and Children's Medical Care Center was established in September 2003, merged from Wuhan Children's Hospital and Wuhan Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

Wuhan Children's Hospital was founded in 1954, and Wuhan Maternal and Child Health Hospital in 1992 respectively.

The center undertakes the medical treatment and scientific research of pediatric diseases for the whole province and neighboring areas, as well as the health care, management and guidance services for nearly 5 million women and children in Wuhan.
