In the past, high-quality colored sand was mainly imported, and some foreign-funded enterprises directly purchased it from abroad. However, there are already manufacturers in China that can produce high-quality colored quartz sand, such as the colored sand produced by Taiwan's Jinfeng Company. Its color, particle roundness, particle size ratio, and chemical resistance are all comparable to foreign products, with stable and reliable quality. Not only is the price lower, but the supply cycle is also short and the after-sales service is good. It has been adopted or designated for use by foreign-funded companies.

The price of colored sand epoxy flooring is higher than that of self leveling epoxy flooring, and it has remained the same in the past and present. The fundamental reason is that the material cost is higher and the construction process is more complex. Some companies in the south have attempted to use colored sand made from natural stone waste (containing carbonate rocks) instead of colored quartz sand to reduce costs. However, the quality of colored sand flooring made in this way cannot be guaranteed, and the wear resistance is not qualified.

This natural colored sand has a complex composition and varying hardness, and is generally suitable for wall decoration rather than floor decoration. There are now low-quality colored quartz sands on the market, with ungrounded particles, sharp edges, uneven dyeing, weak color bonding, and easy fading. They are the product of mixing some colored coatings with ordinary quartz sands. The manufacturing process is simple and not professional, and the quality is prone to problems. Construction units are advised to pay attention.
