Introduction to the Construction Technology of Epoxy Flooring

With the increasingly widespread application of epoxy flooring, the number of corresponding construction contractors has gradually increased. According to market research, each construction team adopts different construction processes and uses different coating formulations. The following introduces the standard epoxy flooring construction technology of Dongguan Jinfeng Coatings.

1. Base Surface Treatment

The core of base treatment lies in flatness and cleanliness. First, remove loose sand, soil and cement residues to ensure the epoxy primer can fully bond with the ground. Secondly, control the base flatness strictly. Jinfeng’s standard requires the overall height deviation of the base to be no more than 3 cm, avoiding insufficient primer coverage in partial areas.

2. Primer Construction

Before application, stir the epoxy primer thoroughly. Ensure uniform rolling during construction, and perform secondary repairing on uneven areas.

3. Trowel Coating Construction

This refers to the intermediate putty layer construction. Mix the coating in the correct proportion and spread it evenly on the primer layer. After complete drying, grind the surface smoothly and remove dust with a vacuum cleaner to prepare for the next procedure.

4. Topcoat and Wear-Resistant Coating Construction

Apply the topcoat evenly with a trowel; do not pile up the coating and then spread it out. This avoids repeated extrusion of the floor surface, which easily causes scratches, even damages the coating structure, and results in unqualified epoxy flooring.

5. Curing and Maintenance after Construction

Maintenance is an indispensable key step to prevent quality defects caused by improper care. Generally, no pedestrian access is allowed within two to three days after construction; no heavy loads are permitted within one week. It is also forbidden to spill high-concentration chemical substances on the floor. If accidental splashing occurs, wipe it off immediately with a dry cloth.
